Post Doctorate Research Fellow in Plant Molecular Biology
Company Description: IngateyGen is an agricultural biotechnology company whose mission is to deliver innovative peanuts with improved safety and nutritional value that offer enhanced health and wellness benefits for consumers, partnering with the food value chain to deliver quality products to market. IngateyGen is relocating to the Raleigh-Durham, Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina. This is a 1-year fellowship financed by a federal grant with a possible extension.
Educational Requirements: Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in Biology, Plant Molecular Biology, Genetics or related fields.
Qualifications and Experience: We are seeking a full-time,highly motivated, independent and dynamic postdoctoral research fellow at IngateyGen LLC, in the development of innovative peanut traits using gene editing technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience and interest in basic plant science, plant tissue culture and transformation, molecular biology techniques such as qPCR/RT-qPCR, Western blot and protein analysis. Familiarity with gene editing techniques, DNA sequencing and genomics is desirable. The candidate should be able to work in a lab, greenhouse and/or field settings. He/she should also have strong laboratory and analytical skills as demonstrated by a strong track record of relevant 1st author publications in well-respected journals and mastery of oral and written communication in English.
Position Profile: Candidates should be self-motivated, critical thinkers with the ability to work independently in a collaborative research environment under the supervision of senior staff.
The candidate will perform grant-funded research projects, including experimental design, sample preparation, data acquisition, data analysis and interpretation, manuscript preparation, and research presentation at national/international meetings.

Multi-Stage Approval Process: (1) Company selects best fit candidate, and both agree to work together. (2) Company nominates selected candidate for a Post-Doctorate Fellowship to the I-PERF program. (3) I-PERF reviews and provides final decision, and (4) all parties agree to a start date.
Estimated Duration: This is a one-year appointment, with possible extension for the successful candidate to eventually become a permanent member of the IngateyGen R&D team.
